The main industrial safety rulebook for hazardous oil and gas production facilities: design of field facilities, well construction and drilling, field operations, well surveys and workovers, prevention of oil, gas and water kicks (including hydrogen sulphide fields) and pipelines.
What matters for an oil & gas company
- Organisations operating fields prepare design documentation for field facilities and well construction projects; minimum safe distances are set in Appendix 1.
- Detailed requirements for drilling rigs, well design and casing, production equipment (separators, pumping stations, tank farms, heaters), well operation methods and workovers.
- Special requirements for hydrogen sulphide fields and for well-control (kick) prevention, including blowout preventers and personnel actions.
