Define how geological information owned, possessed or used by the State — primary (cores, samples, logs) and secondary (geological and reserve reports) — is recorded, stored, systematised, generalised and provided by the authorised body for subsoil study.
What matters for an oil & gas company
- Replaced the 2015 rules on use of state geological information (lost force from 29.06.2018); access to state geological information is now granted under these rules.
- Information is kept in state geological funds and the National Data Bank of Mineral Resources; electronic access is provided via the Unified Subsoil Use Platform.
- 2026 amendments (orders No. 122 of 20.03.2026 and No. 349 of 09.07.2026) partly take effect on 01.01.2027 and introduce a national operator for collecting, storing, processing and providing geological information.
