On approval of the Rules for submission by subsoil users of the geological report in hydrocarbon exploration and production and/or the report on the results of exploration works in a subsoil area located within poorly studied territories

New 2026 rules on geological reporting by hydrocarbon subsoil users: the geological report due after the licence/contract ends and, for areas in poorly studied territories, a report on exploration results during the first three years of the exploration period.
What matters for an oil & gas company
- The geological report is submitted to the authorised body for subsoil study no later than three months after the licence/contract terminates.
- For areas in poorly studied territories, a report on exploration results (form 1-УВГ) is submitted during the first three years of exploration and reviewed within one month; approval is refused if the initial-period work programme was not fully completed.
- Reports are prepared in three paper and electronic copies: for the Republican geological funds, the territorial funds of the interregional department and the subsoil user.
