Require subsoil users to keep safe and record the geological information and its carriers (cores, samples, logs, primary data) obtained during subsoil operations, and to give the authorised body for subsoil study access to them.
What matters for an oil & gas company
- Distinguish primary information (cores, samples, field logs, raw geophysical data) from secondary information (geological and reserve reports).
- The subsoil user must keep materials safe and give the authorised body's representatives unobstructed access; an inventory of primary materials is attached when geological reports are deposited in the geological funds.
- Three months before ending operations the subsoil user must notify the authorised body in writing of the primary materials and cores it holds; the body may require their transfer free of charge.
