Define state monitoring of subsoil as a system of observations of the condition of the subsoil (including satellite remote sensing) to ensure rational use of the state subsoil fund and to detect, assess and prevent negative processes in time.
What matters for an oil & gas company
- Monitoring is carried out at local, regional and national levels and covers solid mineral and hydrocarbon deposits, groundwater, subsoil space use sites and areas affected by other economic activities.
- Observations are made at points of the state network (budget-funded) and of private networks set up by subsoil users under their contracts and licences.
- Data are stored and processed in the automated information systems of the state subsoil data bank of the authorised body for subsoil study.
