Sets how raw-gas flaring norms and volumes are calculated for well-object testing, trial production and technologically unavoidable flaring; actual flaring must not exceed the calculated normative volumes.
What matters for an oil & gas company
- Raw gas production for oil fields is calculated as oil production multiplied by the gas-oil ratio, and for gas fields from well flow-rate measurements, based on the approved project document.
- Calculated flaring volume = total raw gas production minus gas used for own process needs, process losses, power generation, reinjection and treatment/processing.
- Volumes are measured by metering devices at unit inlets and outlets, at inlets of gas-consuming equipment, at metering stations and at flare inlets.
