SLB (formerly Schlumberger) provides reservoir characterization, well construction, completion and production services and technologies to oil and gas operators in Kazakhstan. It works through an Atyrau-registered branch of Schlumberger Logelco Inc. (since 2001) and ТОО «Шлюмберже Центральная Азия», and runs a large operating base near Aktau, opened in 2012, that supports onshore and offshore work in western Kazakhstan and the wider Caspian region.

KazMunayGas-Burenie is an Atyrau-based drilling contractor whose history goes back to the Prorva drilling office of 1963; it has operated under its current name since 2002. It drills production and exploration wells and provides drilling fluid services, cementing, coring, well completion and directional drilling with a fleet of about ten owned rigs of 100–590 t capacity. It is part of the KazPetroDrilling group rather than a subsidiary of national company KazMunayGas.
Baker Hughes provides oilfield services and equipment, as well as industrial and energy technology such as compressors and turbomachinery, to operators in Kazakhstan. It is represented by an Atyrau-registered branch of Baker Hughes Services International LLC (since 1998) and several local entities, including ТОО «Baker Hughes Services Kazakhstan» and the Kazakhstan branch of Nuovo Pignone International S.r.l.; it has an office in Atyrau and field operations in Aksai, and its authorized partner Atyrauenergoremont services mechanical drives, compressors and power generation equipment.
