Petro Welt Technologies (PeWeTe, formerly Cat Oil AG) is a Vienna-headquartered oilfield services group offering hydraulic fracturing, cementing, coiled tubing, drilling/sidetracking and proppant manufacturing. It has provided fracturing services to Kazakhstani operators, including Ozenmunaigas, since 2002, and registered Petro Welt Technologies Kazakhstan LLP in Kyzylorda in 2016; after divesting its Russian business and exiting Oman, Kazakhstan became its core market, and the Vienna parent was renamed Petroleum Engineering and World Technology GmbH in March 2025.

It operates from Aktau, Atyrau and Zhanaozen.
SLB (formerly Schlumberger) provides reservoir characterization, well construction, completion and production services and technologies to oil and gas operators in Kazakhstan. It works through an Atyrau-registered branch of Schlumberger Logelco Inc. (since 2001) and ТОО «Шлюмберже Центральная Азия», and runs a large operating base near Aktau, opened in 2012, that supports onshore and offshore work in western Kazakhstan and the wider Caspian region.
