Emission from a stack measurement
Emission rate of a pollutant (g/s) from its measured concentration in the flue gas and the gas flow, and the annual emission (t) from the source's operating hours.
G = C · Q / 1000M = G · τ · 3600 / 10⁶The rate in g/s is limited as a one-time maximum and the total in t/yr as an annual amount. If the source load varies, compute the annual total from the yearly average concentration and flow, not from the peak mode.
Source: Measurement method: emission = concentration × flue gas flow
Inputs
You can change a field's unit: the value is converted to the formula's units automatically.
From the measurement report. Concentration and flow must refer to the same conditions, usually 0 °C, 101.3 kPa, dry gas.
At the same conditions; m³/h ÷ 3600 = m³/s.
All year round: 8,760 h (leap year: 8,784 h).

A year is 365 days. In emission reports g/s is the source strength and t/yr the annual total.

Results are engineering estimates from standard formulas; for design decisions check them against the codes, project documents and specialists' calculations. The formulas carried over from the original set are unchanged, and their errors are described in the notes.
