NOV (formerly National Oilwell Varco) supplies drilling rig equipment, downhole tools and wellbore technologies to oil and gas operators in Kazakhstan, and rents and services tubular-handling and drilling tools. It has operated in the country since 2003 through a branch registered in Atyrau, with an office and equipment warehouse serving western Kazakhstan's oilfields.

Nabors Industries is a global land-drilling contractor that has operated in Kazakhstan since 2015 through KMG Nabors Drilling Company, a joint venture with KazMunayGas subsidiary KMG Drilling & Services that took over Tengizchevroil's drilling program at the Tengiz field. In 2025 Nabors also acquired Parker Wellbore, which had run drilling rigs in Kazakhstan for various operators since 1993.
KazMunayGas-Burenie is an Atyrau-based drilling contractor whose history goes back to the Prorva drilling office of 1963; it has operated under its current name since 2002. It drills production and exploration wells and provides drilling fluid services, cementing, coring, well completion and directional drilling with a fleet of about ten owned rigs of 100–590 t capacity. It is part of the KazPetroDrilling group rather than a subsidiary of national company KazMunayGas.
KCA Deutag is an international land-drilling contractor that entered Kazakhstan through a 2021 joint venture, KCA Deutag Kazakhstan LLP, with local operator OGCC KazStroyService, covering engineering, rig leasing, and rig operation and maintenance for the Tengiz, Karachaganak and Kashagan projects. The Kazakhstan business is headquartered in Atyrau; KCA Deutag itself was acquired by U.S. driller Helmerich & Payne in January 2025.
